How busy was it? Up to 10 minute wait
Time of day? Weekday dinner
Additional Comments: The pain and suffering of putting up hundreds of reviews over the previous 3 months without being able to sample any peri peri chicken myself had finally come to an end. I knew there was not long to go now as I entered Baker Street Nando’s and was warmly greeted by the staff and equally impressed by the Christmas tree which adorned the entrance. Our group of 6 had a minimal wait on a chilly Thursday evening before being taken downstairs to a luxurious booth in one of the far corners. The only minor problem was that the water machine and other drinks couldn’t have been much further away but you can’t have everything I guess. There was no queue to order downstairs even though the restaurant was almost full which was great. Food came in spits and spats as tends to happen when in a big group (more than 4 is big in my book) in a busy restaurant. One member of the party had almost finished when the last 2 (me included) received their whole chicken to share. I appreciate this is almost inevitable in some situations but still feel that staff could do more to ensure main courses arrive with shorter intervals at times. The food was great to start as I was finally reunited with my peri peri chicken. I couldn’t get enough of it. As time wore on and I carried on munching into my breast, the sauce to chicken ratio seemed to deteriorate and the final bites were rather lacklustre. That was resolved with some mayo and extra hot sauce but it can be classified as average as best. The large chips portion was rather big, no complaints there. Décor has been discussed previously and there are photos below. As for the surroundings, other hidden gems in the area include The Sports Bar and Grill in Marylebone which has a spacious downstairs area. | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 3 | 3 | 2.5 | 4 | Meaning | Not bad. Just started working around the Baker Street area and I am chuffed to bits that I work near a decent branch.
Went in , it was quite full, there were only two of us so we managed to get seated right away, but i did notice a bit of a queue for those who wanted bigger tables.
Got to our seat after sorting out the cutlery and sauces, we were closely followed by a juicy bit a poultry covered in some of that unmistakable peri-peri goodness.
The food was tender, hot. i ordered some peas for the first time which wasn't completely to my taste but aside from that a good exPERIence | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 4 | 5 | 4 | 3 | Meaning | Good stuff. Number of visits?: 2-5 visits! How busy was it? Half full Time of day? Weekday dinner Additional comments: I am French and I have been to Nando's twice with one of the webdesigners, he was always saying : Go to Nando's, it's so good ! We went with my girlfriend, we discovered the spiciness level, she took the medium, and I took the hot ( I will not tell you that the other mad guy took the Extra Hot --" ) I thought that will be funny, but I didn't feel my tongue after that spicy chicken...
Finally, I advise you to take first the medium and then try to increase your own resistance if you do not want to cry in front of your friends :D Well, that was a good experience, the decoration was nice, and the corn on the cob and the whole chicken, D E L I C I O U S !! | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Meaning | Not bad. Number of visits?: 2-5 visits! How busy was it? Almost full Time of day? Weekend lunch Additional comments: Cross the road from Baker Street tube to find this branch which is conveniently located for any Madame Tussauds fans incidentally. With seating upstairs and downstairs, this is one of the larger London branches. On this occasion, I introduced two French students to Nando's and they were rather impressed even if their bold decision to go for hot and medium made the experience slightly more intense than they were expecting. Service was good as my food arrived quickly, the wait for the others to receive their food was noticeable but luckily they were not offended when I told them I was too hungry to wait. The chicken was good although my leg could have been slightly meatier. Staff were friendly and filled up our tap waters whenever they saw we were running low! Shame the dispenser was not working properly (only ice, no water). Decor is as you expect with various thought provoking pieces of artwork on the walls. There is even limited seating outside. Good Nando's overall! | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 4 | 4 | 3.5 | 4 | Meaning | Good stuff. Number of visits?: 2 - 5! Additional comments: Was in London for a couple days to watch the mighty Bears win the CB40 so squeezed a couple of visits into this one. Needless to say, it's in London - and right by the tube, so parking is N/A. Came here in the evening one day and late afternoon the next and was seated straight away both times. Was able to sit on the ground floor and lower ground floor over the two visits - and it's certainly a little better decorated and has more atmosphere downstairs. The ceilings are of course lower - but adds to the ambience. Good sculptures and jars/pots dotted about the place downstairs adding to the atmos. It wasn't particularly busy either time and so the chicken came in just under 15 minutes - but the wait to order the food was just as long, if not longer... Sadly, to get another drink during the meal had another long wait. There didn't seem to be much table service going on, so had to go and queue up again. The chicken was good though - and a full selection of sauces on offer, so got my peri-peri fix. Just a shame about the wait at times. | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 2 | 2 | 3.5 | 3 | Meaning | Quite rude, Ignored me as they walked past | 15 - 25 mins - Where is the food? Number of visits?: This was their first visit! Additional comments: I decided to get a take-away on a pleasant Thursday afternoon in town. Having previously ordered the food on the phone, I only had to pay and wait for a couple of minutes before my food was given to me. The staff helped me with my specific sauce requests and when I was handed the bag, the woman went through it to check everything on the order had been included which is a good policy as I have had such issues in the past. The food was ok but it will never be as good as eating in. The chips didn't taste as good as normal and I dind't feel like completely demolishing the chicken which is unlike me. The branch is well located practically outside Baker Street Station and across the road from Madame Tussauds. There is a wide range of other fast food in the vicinity but don't let that confuse you, choose Nando's!
