Additional comments: It was basically empty when we went in but we went literally the second it opened so that would explain it. The chicken is not always the freshest and tender and the chickens need to be marinated rather than just put on during cooking. Yet the food is always the best as nandoes is the best. The staff were very friendly despite I accidentally knocked all the sauces over during a past visit. lol. To end the quite clean but too packed. It looked like the chicken had been working out before getting smothered in that beautiful sauce - a really large portion, good stuff! Number of Visits?: 10 - 50 visits Additional Comments: This is one of three Birmingham Nando's that I have visited too many times and it's the one I keep going back to. Although it's not the biggest and certainly not the most decorated, there's always a buzz about the place that makes it enjoyable to eat in! It's located within the Bull Ring shopping centre, so anytime of the day it is always busy - and more often than not (especially in the evening), it means there is a wait to be seated. This has been up to 45 minutes in some instances - but being in the Bull Ring, there are hundreds of shops to be able to browse around if there is a wait. With it being so busy all of the time, problems undoubtedly occur, but the staff are always friendly and are only too happy to sort it out. Some notable examples I have experienced are: - forgotten starters. This has resulted in an extra loyalty stamp with a refund for the starter, a dessert in exchange or a side dish in exchange - No extra extra hot sauce. Free soft drink to make up for it. - Long waits for food. Free side dish. There are quite a few car parks near to the Bull Ring (usually cheaper than the Bull Ring one itself), so it's worth checking these out first if you are going to drive. Otherwise one of three main train stations and countless bus routes will get you there. The food is usually top notch too - you can tell it's a branch that knows how to cope with high footfall. So why is this Nando's my favourite? Because you can sit outside! If it's sunny then brilliant, but even if it's cold and wet, they have large paraols with very good heaters clipped to the underneath - meaning whatever the weather you can sit outside! The seating area overlooks the Selfridges building, St. Martin's Church, a few fountain/architectural pieces and more - and at night time, this is often lit up to make for a lovely view (as nice as you'll get in the City). | Friendliness of Staff | Speed of Service | Quality of Food | Decoration and Cleanliness | Rating | 4 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Meaning | Good stuff. We were able to get a table for 10 on a relatively busy Friday evening without too long a wait but this Nando's is almost always busy so think about other branches in central Birmingham at peak hours. The lack of peri spice on the chips led to a rather humorous incident. When my friend was given the peri salt shaker to add a sufficient amount of peri salt, unfortunately the lid was not securely attached and an extreme amount of peri salt fell out on to my friend's chips. He had to ask for a new portion of chips which was no problem. If an adequate amount of peri spice had been sprinkled on to the chips in the first place, the problem would not have arisen. Staff were very polite and gave me an extra stamp after a brief discussion about the website! There is an outside area that is nice during the summer months. Service is generally decent and food of a high quality.
