I liked the Peri salt fries and the spicy chicken, and the restaurant in itself was nice. Weekend dinner Additional comments: I decided to celebrate my 22nd birthday at Nando's (where else?) and opted for this particular branch for various reasons! Having been in regular contact with Manager Kerrina for a few months (and more recently Ross), I was reassured that bringing a group of up to 30 people on a Saturday night should not be too much of a problem! Other Birmingham branches, especially Broad Street, are known to be particularly busy on Saturday nights but Paradise Forum has more scope to cater for special occasions during supposed peak hours. I phoned the branch around an hour before our arrival and was reassured that everything was in place! The 30 man party started arriving just before 7:20 and everyone was seated immediately. You would have expected ordering to have been far more chaotic than it actually was considering the numbers. In reality, everything went smoothly as the staff used all of the available tills extremely efficiently. A bonus linked to this visit was my victory in the Birmingham Paradise Forum photo competition on their Facebook page. This meant we were entitled to 4 meals of our choice as well as drinks and starters! I am still baffled as to why no one else entered the competition! As far as I'm aware, there were no problems with all the orders and everyone's food arrived in good time especially considering how many of us there were. It was a very nice touch to be offered a bowl of chicken wings (wing roulette) on the house as it was my birthday. They were demolished by one lucky half of the table! My half chicken was as expected; the only slight issue was that I was not completely stuffed on completion. This minor problem soon faded away as my choc-a-lot cake (once again, on the house) arrived to a chorus of ‘Happy Birthday to you’. It really was a nice touch! I was not impressed with the service on my recent visit. Firstly, when ordering my meal i was asked to repeat my order at least 3 times. After a 40 minute wait the meals arrived. One meal arrived without chips and another without peri salt. The manager is wonderful catering for all of our needs and even explained why some head poncho in Nandos HQ decided to shrink the portions of fries. The setting is quality, inside Paradise Forum which offers a cash point, next to the Birmingham Central Library (if you're interested in that type of stuff) and a close walk into town. Close to Broad St. so a lovely place to have dinner before a big night on the town. Their Coke machine also works much better than many Nandos - sometimes they over-fizz, but NOT this branch! Also the chicken is plentiful and generous. Just a shame about the chip portions - but that has become a national concern of m.i.n.e. and hopefully all you other Nandos enthusiasts out there. Number of visits?: 2-5 Additional comments: I was a little disappointed after a fantastic visit a week earlier (where I got two breast pieces for my half a chicken) that this Nando's could not cater easily for more than 6 people. Very frustrating as I enjoy going with a group of people! Additional comments: Parking near The Mailbox shopping centre is £1 an hour and within a 5 minute walk through one of the prettiest parts of central Birmingham, you are in Nando's! We were seated immediately on a Friday lunchtime which would probably not have been possible at the Bullring branch! For one reason or another, this was my first visit to this branch after living in Birmingham for 3 years and it was a memorable experience. Special mention to Manager Kerrina who was extremely friendly and helpful and has also provided the prize for the Rate YOUR Nando's Review of the Month Competition for March! Food was particulary tasty with generous amounts of sauce and chips. All members of the party were truly satisfied after the meal! Date of last Visit: 29/12/10 Number of Visits?: 10-50 Additional Comments: I've been to this Nando's many times now and have never had a problem with it myself, but other people within the groups I have been with aren't always so lucky. I find my chicken is always nicely cooked and has sufficient marinade (must be because I choose manly Extra Hot) - but I have seen others get cold chicken or almost plain chicken (when there was supposed to be a sauce!). Have always never had a problem getting a seat, regardless of the time of day I get there. There's a nice seating area - and New Street/High Street/Broad Street are only a few minutes walk away (if there is a longer wait) to go and get a drink. The restaurant itself doesn't really have any walls for decor, as it's an open entrance and then most of it is glass that lets you see out into the Paradise Forum centre, which is a nice touch. There are some nice booths raised at a higher level at the back of the branch - which comfortably seat 6 people - that are nice to sit in. Number of visits?: It was my first visit Additional comments: My very first visit to Nando's! I was told to expect a 10-minute wait, which seems quite normal at peak time (2 pm) but 30 minutes is way too long. Staff apologised though. Chicken was tasty and well cooked, as was the 'sweet mash' I had with it. Nothing exceptional but no disappointment, great value for money. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated (could look even better with a Miro painting on the wall, but that's trivial). Free soft drinks refills are a great idea. Would definitely recommend it but speed of service could be improved: I wanted to try other branches but gave up because of the queues. Also: please bring the concept to France!

Additional comments: Just seen this website on twitter, Paradise Forum is a joy. Some staff are brilliant. Managers very involved and everyone was busy and helpful despite being at about 80% capacity due to sale shopping. I have been going since they opened and the staff now are pretty perfect. I love Nandos, but only here, not Broad Street or Bull Ring who are super rude. Cheers.

Lay out is unique with a glass wall looking out into the Paradise Forum where it is located. As a result we had a good view of tramps in the betting shop opposite!
