I was really impressed with how many peri peri chips I received! Also, one waitress was so sweet and helpful, her smile really made our dinner. All about the customer service!

Boring Balham, somewhere I'd rather not spend my Friday night again. This visit was just a shambles from start to finish. Arrived and entered to be told there is an up to 20 minute wait. That's fine, not bothered about waiting, however I didn't enjoy the further 5 minute lecture on how the queueing system works. I really didn't want to know, and whilst the server may have thought they were being helpful, I think everyone knows that if there isn't a space, you have to wait.

One of the worst Nando's visits this year and I went to Dalston and Stroud Green so that's saying something...

Four of us told there's a 20 min wait, that was cool but this is a small branch with a small waiting area and the door opens into the order queue. Finally given a table I waited in said order queue and door queue for maybe 10 minutes as only 1 till was open. Hmm.. okay then. The host finally opened a second till but then a man from the other side jumped ahead of me..

This is an easily accessible branch, as it has excellent transport links, both the Tube and train stations are very close by, but I really wouldn’t bother. Our dining experience was mostly appalling.
Upon arrival the host informed us our wait to be seated would be approx. 20 minutes. This is entirely understandable, it was a Friday night after all. The quoted waiting time was accurate.

A rather unplanned and somewhat lucky trip to Nando's. I was down in Balham to meet some friends for some Friday night birthday drinks but a combination of me being a bit early and them being very late meant I had some time to kill. Given how rarely I venture to South London, I was pleasantly surprised by Balham High Street and even more so when I found there was a Nando's about 2-3min walk away from the station (Northern line and National rail).

So onto my third Nando's of the evening and fourth of the day... so I was starting to feel a bit full at this point! But the next step took me to Balham.

This Nando's is just a few minutes walk away from Balham Train and Tube Station. It is a fairly small restaurant with only 20 or so table/chair sets in a slightly narrow and longer layout.

This store is close to the Balham train station and a large Waitrose. Its quite compact and the front windows look like they open fully to allow the outside in during the summer. Tables are nestled close together but there is still a wait for a table. There is some good artwork on the walls.

Friendly staff, very chatty... they didn't initially bring the spicy chip salt so it was a bonus when I got to keep shaking it on for as long as I want :)
The Garlic Bread was a little soggy (and no melted cheese), but nothing to worry about.
No airblade... boooooo..
Terrible weather, and I was in a rush..

Balham Nando's was the 36th to open in the UK, and we combined our visit with the RYN team, who spoke to the branch manager while the rest of us took our seats.
Probably mostly due to this, the service was exceptionally good, with the staff ()especially the aforementioned manager) going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our Nando's experience was a positive one.
Most of us were given the equivalent of a staff discount, and there were free soft drinks all round!

Balham Nando's was on the list of Unrated UK Branches until this visit! The branch is a 5 minute walk from Balham tube (northern line)and the surrounding area is littered with shops and other restaurants (I can't imagine the chicken house across the road does that well!).On arrival, it did take the staff a while to notice me as I was the first member of the group to get to the branch. To be fair, there was a queue at the till but I did feel slightly neglected.

Nando's Balham is a great branch - service is always speedy even when it's busy, the place is clean and the music is great. Plus, I don't know how it can possibly be different to anywhere else, but it's the best Grilled Haloumi Cheese I've had. It's a two minute walk from the tube, there's loads of great pubs and little boutique shops in the area, so the location is perfect. Great Nando's.
