In the morning after the long trip up from Portsmouth I arrived at the store at 11:45 to a warm welcome. Situated in a swanky part of town, in a short stumbling distance of the V and A museum and the Natural History museum with tesco's express, waitrose and a kfc close by. However due to is location Parking is nigh on impossible. There is a broadish Patio along 2 sides which is separated from the pavement with low fencing which i assume is used for seating in summer. Inside the store is narrow, stairs went up to more seating. The cutlery is in indents in front of till and the clean beverage and sauce area is infront of the till. There wasn't a great number of sauce bottles even though i was only customer, only one bottle of new lemon and herb table sauce. I was served by the manager and a member of staff was placing the chicken on the grill as i spoke. They didn't have a stamp which alarmed me as is hard enough to redeem cards at some stores even with stamp, date and signature and you can get cross examined. Now try that with a card signed and no stamp and you have no hope.
There was a good selection of artwork around store and there was the hitbitual sink in the corner which was made into a feature. The red lightshades were impressive too. Lack of booths as was just tables with a comfy bench on the wall side and a chair on the store side. Toilets are down stairs along a corridor and were clean, spacious and neat. Food was quite quick and the chicken was cooked just the way I like it, mash was spot on and generous, macho peas did seem a bit watery. I enjoyed this store just needs to iron out more sauce bottles and get another stamp.
