An unexpected one-night stay on the Isle of Sheppey offered scope for a visit to a new Nando's and Hempstead Valley ticked all the boxes. If you do find yourself on the Isle of Sheppey and ask the Nando's app to tell you where your closest Nando's is, it might tell you Southend Nando's is the closest in terms of miles, but don't be fooled as the direct route would involve some fast swimming or getting on a boat!

Hempstead Valley Nando's was opened last year and has the feeling of a new Nando's with very comfortable furtniture and funky décor. We were made to feel at home right away, despite there being a queue for a table on a fairly busy Sunday evening. We had to wait just under ten minutes before being seated at a large table for five meaning space would not be an issue with a huge Nando's feast on the horizon.

The staff were mesmerised by my t-shirt (thank you, SVC!) to the point where manager Wendy offered me a free meal if I'd let her have her photo taken with me, a no-brainer!

We went for an Altogether Now to start with wings, drumsticks and houmous with peri-peri drizzle meaning there was plenty of delicious grub to go round before we got to our No Bones About It platter. There was also great scope to make a #NandosFoodFace or two, see Instagram for more!

All the food was delicious and the chicken was well cooked. The only gripe would be a slightly less generous than usual sprinkling of peri salt on the chips, but they were still tasty.

There's free parking here and a few other restaurants in the shopping centre too. I can only fully recommended this Nando's. Thank you, George and Wendy for looking after us and we hope the photo goes up in the staff office!
