This visit to a previously unrated Nando's was inspired by an initiative on the Nando's Lewisham Facebook page which saw the 100th fan receive a combo meal and drink to be used exclusively in this branch. The fact that the branch was unrated meant I was especially enthusiastic to claim the prize and delighted when it arrived at my house a matter of days after becoming the 100th fan. The staff, especially the manager, were enthusiastic about the fact that I had won the prize as well as the website and the letter which we handed into them.

As for the prize, we were allowed to claim a double wrap with 2 sides which combined with my friend's free whole chicken meant there was plenty of food for two! We were seated straight away and even offered a choice of tables which was a nice touch. No queue to order but the first minor problem arrived when the food was brought out. There was a good 5 minute wait between the two meals which is a long time and could have been easily avoided considering there were not many other orders going through at the time. With a big group, it is expected for some meals to arrive before others but with only 2 people, you'd hope Nando's could bring them both at the same time especially if one was ordered straight after the other.

Once the food did all arrive, however, there was nothing to complain about. I got through almost 3/4s of a chicken which was dripping in sauce and the chips were excellent. I was provided with a generous portion of mayonnaise too rather than a small, dingy plastic container.
The branch itself did not have any outstanding features in terms of decor but it was the first time I noticed accessible sockets in a Nando's for customers. I guess this would provide scope for a business meeting to take place there if need be!
The surrounding area is very commercialised with some pedestrian areas lined with shops and restaurants. Lewisham station (DLR and overground) is a 5 minute walk away and is very well connected to central London.
All in all, an excellent Nando's.
