The whitechapel branch re opened after refurbishment and WOW!! The decor is amazing!! Great music from a band playing, which added to the great atmosphere! Not to mentions kids having their face painted and a dancing chicken running around, happy staff allround! I intended to have a quick lunch but ended up staying for over 1 hour! okay... Whitechapel has been picked for a month, selected in an eenie, meenie, miney, mo type situation, and I may have put this one off had I know about the noise level beforehand.... Oh my god, it was so crazy, they had us on a table that should not have been there in the first place and it was soooooo loud!

Once we arrived at Whitechapel Tube Station, the branch was fairly easy to find. Just turn left and walk past The Blind Beggar pub (famously a Kray Twins old haunt).
However, the Nando sign could've been bigger & brighter and easier to spot. Actually thought it was closed down as we approached. The restaurant entrance opens up to the food ordering counter AND the seating queue AND the takeaway waiting area. Feel this could be slightly better organised. Just a thought!

On a weekday evening, our group of 7 arrive at Whitechapel Nando’s. As my friend Lap had cycled but forgot to bring his bike lock, our first question was would we be able to bring in a bike. The woman who greeted us just beyond the entrance at first said "no", before checking with her manager. The manager at first also gave us the negative, before realising we were a large group and saying “I’ll see what I can do”.

Onto Whitechapel... and an Indian street market in full flow. For about quarter of a mile either side of the tube station are market stalls with what seemed like thousands of people browsing them. It would probably be best to exit the station, cross the road, turn left and then cross back over the road when you see the White Hart Brew Pub.

Whitechapel isn't the best part of London (to put it nicely), and on the way to this Nando's from the station I have to admit we felt rather uncomfortable. People kept looking at us as if to say 'what are you doing here', and someone even tried to put his hand in my girlfriend's bag! However, that shouldn't affect the rating of this Nando's (and it hasn't), but I have to admit I wouldn't return in a hurry for this reason alone.

Arrived at this branch about 4pm on a Saturday, It’s just a short walk from Whitechapel tube station on the Hammersmith and City and District lines, just turn left when you leave the station and keep walking until you see it. It was packed when we got there! I’ve never found a Nando’s that busy at 4pm even on a Saturday! My first impression of this branch was ‘wow this is stupid’ the inside queuing area directs the queue into blocking the door?

Whilst up in London I headed over to this branch which is based on the ground floor of a modern building to the north of the “waste” on mile end road. It benefits with limited on road parking outside and is close to Whitechapel underground station, just turn left / away from the Gerkin when you exit the station. It also has a Sainsbury’s close by.

5 minute walk from White Chapel underground station.
Recommended pubs and bars close by. Parking right outside.
Cinema less than a 5 minute walk away, in order to compliment the perfect nandos meal.
Very modern decor, refreshing lighting, and a musical atmosphere to die for.
