Additional Comments: I've reviewed this branch quite a few times so I'll just keep this brief. All the other times I've reviewed it the branch has been empty but this time I went on a friday night when it was extremely busy and we had a 30 minute wait, however when we ordered our food it came in under 5 minutes! I just wanted to say this as it proves to me that this branch is fast during both quiet and busy times, making it deserving as it's place as fastest branch in London! Additional comments: Another fantastic visit to this branch, the food is always amazing here, the staff here are so friendly, The Nandoca who showed me to my table must have misheard me and started explaining how Nando’s works! I quickly told her that I’d been over a hundred times and I knew all that! I got sat on the same table I’ve been sat on 3 times now, which gives you a perfect view of the chicken being cooked and the meal prepared. I ordered my usual butterfly chicken, it came in under 5 minutes, with me watching them plate it up then bring it over. The garlic bread was cooked perfectly, burnt and crispy, the chicken dripping in extra hot sauce and the chips boiling hot and freshly cooked, I devoured the meal in no time at all and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I love my local branch, I think its way above average, That’s why I keep returning there! Additional comments: I've been to this branch lots of times since I moved to London, This has by far been the best of those visits, It just keeps getting better, I went about 22:45, which is my preferred time to go since it's empty and the service is fast!
So yes, I got in and got seated straight away on table 20 (Which I've sat on like 4 times now) I ordered my food and once again I got the last butterfly chicken they had left! I told the Nandoca that this was the second time it happened and she laughed and said I must be lucky!
I collected my cutlery and stuff and as is usual for this time of night they had started refilling all the sauce bottles so I had to ask the nandoca and she told me she'd bring it over to my table, which she did, a tub full of lots of extra extra hot sauce, and told me to ask if I wanted anymore bringing over, very polite!
The food only took a few minutes to arrive, the garlic bread was cooked perfectly, the chips were very hot, though the piece of butterfly chicken was smaller than some I've had. I covered everything in extra extra hot sauce and it was delicious.
I really enjoyed this meal, I think it was one of the best I've had in 5 weeks I've been here! I'm glad my local Nando's is this awesome! Mid-afternoon or Late Evening Additional Comments: I visited this branch two times this week, both were pretty similar so I don’t see the point in writing two reviews. I arrived at 10:30pm as I like to do, I prefer it when it’s empty, and you usually get to choose wherever you want to sit, the only downside is that at this time they’ve started to refill all the sauce bottles and there’s a bit of a hassle of asking for some and getting given a little plastic container to put it in… All very complicated! But yes, nice calm, quiet atmosphere at this time of night and the staff are usually cheerful that they get to go home soon (Not that I’d ever get tired of being in Nando’s but I assume it gets a bit tiresome walking round and carrying stuff) So yes, both of the times I went I got given the choice of which table, so naturally I chose the same table each time, perched on the first level with a good view of the grill, I like watching my food get cooked and plated up.
Obviously I don’t even look at the menu so I get straight up to order, usually it’s the same person who showed me to the table in the first place so I don’t have to bother giving my table number, the first time it went smoothly with me ordering my butterfly chicken with chips and garlic bread.. But the second time… I nearly had a heart attack! She turned, the world slowed down and she asked the griller, “Do we have any butterfly left?” he opened the draw and turned to her, “One” he replied. Relief flooded over me and time sped back up to normal. So yes, I got my butterfly chicken, but that is a warning that if you come really late they might not have what you want left :/ .
So I got myself seated back down and watched them prepare my food, the chicken is done almost immediately and plated up but then the long wait for the chips and garlic bread begins, it only took about 5 minutes the first night but the second night it took about 10 minutes for them to plate up my full meal and bring it over, it’s painful watching the chicken sit there while I’m starving, and because of that, the second night the chicken was not as warm as I would have liked it. On both nights the chips were really hot, so hot that I had to let them cool down a bit before I ate them, the garlic bread was just perfect, I love the garlic bread in this branch, not too crispy and not too soft, just right. The chicken was covered in extra hot sauce and other than the fact it was slightly cold the second night it was delicious.
One annoying thing about the second night was a group of loud men at the table next to me, they were making strange loud noises I think trying to sing opera? They were really annoying until a man in front of me turned around, he seemed to check if they were bigger than him before he said anything… But he told them to be quiet while he ate, I was grateful for that and I enjoyed the rest of my meal in peace. The first night my chair was broken I noticed but on the second night, sat in the same place it was a new chair, I didn’t quite feel safe on the broken one.
I was recently informed that one big Nando’s fan! Stays away from the Wood Green branch because he fears for his safety in the area, I personally haven’t experienced anything, other than the time there was the stabbing in the McDonalds next door, but I don’t know, Is delicious Nando’s food worth the chance of getting killed? Personally I think yes but you can decide that for yourself. It’s pretty safe if you just hop off the tube, run over the road and get straight in there, behind the magic shield of Peri-Peri power, I’m not sure about parking since I don’t drive and never park anywhere but there seems to be a cinema just behind this branch.
But yes, this branch is my local and I love it and I’ll be spending many nights there over the next year. Additional comments: Well I won't say much about the decor since it hasn't really changed since I visited on Friday? Other than a police van parked outside with tape blocking off the mcdonalds, for a second I thought Nando's was closed off! I nearly died! Luckily it was open.
The Nandoca's at this branch are always so smiley! even when it's really late at night (10:45) I requested the table I had sat at two of the other times I visited and quickly ordered my food, my usual butterfly chicken with chips and garlic bread. I got settled down in my seat with a good view of my food being prepared and in under 10 minutes it had arrived, not surprising since it was almost empty at this time of night.
The garlic bread was visibly burnt, thought I do like it that way as I've said in previous reviews, however the chips were also burnt and were very hard and disappointing, so I covered them in extra extra hot sauce and devoured them. Everything tastes good with peri-peri on. The chicken was also a bit burnt and not dripping so I had to cover it in extra-extra hot, so yeah, delicious.
I was in and out in under half an hour, and was given the usual thank you and goodbye from the staff. Obviously I said about the decoration in my previous review so I won't bother... But I thought I should review again because of the differences from last time.
This was a late visit I arrived about half 10, so It was empty apart from two other groups. The lady who showed me to my table was friendly but not as laughy as the guy I had the other day, I guess the atmosphere gets duller the later it gets. I deliberately asked for the same table I had sat at last time, just for fun. Because it was almost empty because there was no queue I got served immediatly, but walked off forgetting my bank card and the man had to shout me back for it.. Haha, as it was almost empty my chicken was straight on the grill and arrived in under 5 minutes, The chicken was disapointing :/ nowhere near as drenched in sauce as it was the other night, the garlic bread wasn't that well done and hardly had any garlic on it, just tasted like warm crispy bread.. The chips were really hot and slightly hard, I still enjoyed the meal though, but this might just be because it's getting late and they are loosing their enthusiasm for cooking chicken :/

Mid-afternoon or Late Evening Additional comments: This branch is interesting, it's spread out over four levels the decoration is nice, It has one of the cool giant mirrors and big circly things on the ceiling with the awesome chandeliers. I liked how the place was set out, So the decoration was very nice. It's also really close to the tube station, you just have to walk over the road and look in front of you!
The place was really full when I arrived, to be expected on an evening I expected to have a long wait for a table.. the greeter at the door was very friendly, he misheard my name and thought I told him I was called Nick, so he wrote Nick down on the waiting list, I tried to correct him but he just jokingly said, "Oh well, as long as you know you're Nick" which I found quite funny, He sat me down in the waiting area which had nice comfy seats which most branches don't have for waiting, that makes this branch stand out!
As I said I expected a long wait but only ended up sitting there for about 10 minutes, before "Nick" was called and I got up, the friendly waitress suggested I wait in the queue before going to my table so I did, and she walked over to what table I was at and waved at me to show me where it was which was very helpful. The wait in the queue didn't take long and the person who served me was nice and smiled at me, and soon I was filling up my glass with coke and heading to my table, It was a nice little table on the first level with a good view of the grill, I had a good wait watching the man cook my chicken, he was very quick at doing it
and I was impressed.
The wait for the food was a lot shorter than you'd expect it to be when the restaurant was full and it arrived in under 10 minutes! I'd ordered Butterfly chicken extra hot with chips and garlic bread, and for the first time I decided to try out extra extra hot sauce, It was delicious, I'd long been used to the extra hot sauce so this was a welcome shock to my taste buds, I covered everything in it, I'll definitely be having it next time as well! The chicken was as delicious as it usually is at Nando's, a big piece not burnt and covered in sauce, however the chips were slightly more burnt that usual so that was a bit of a downer, but they were still nice once I'd covered them in extra extra hot sauce. The garlic bread was done just as I like it, slightly burnt and not all soft. I tried something I'd never tried before in this Nando's, I decided to test how trustworthy people in the resturant were, so as I went to get another drink I left my phone on the table, when I got back I was shocked to see it was gone, but it turned out a nice person had actually seen it and handed it in to staff! This made me happy as it's good to know people can be trusted in this world and more important in Nando's!
So overall this was a good branch, not the biggest or best that I've been in, but really quick when busy! and an interesting layout, I recommend this branch at whatever time!
