On my visit to Derby I spent a lot of time looking for parking and eventually parked in the Cathedral car park on St Michaels Lane and walked in through Irongate. The store is on the edge of Market Place in the Cathedral quarter, though I'm not sure if Markets still occur in the square. There is however the Guildhall theatre and also the Quad cinema. Large windows face onto the square which can mean it is hot in summer if sat in the window (my mistaken choice admittedly) but there are sun screens that can come down. The toilets are downstairs and approaching them was like entering a roman temple with the urns but smelling now where near as nice and could do with a slight spruce up.
The staff were all friendly and did the standard checks, the girl on the till was new which did mean a bit of me explaining to her how the till worked and took getting another staff member to get the card machine to work.
The chicken was good and the chips of a generous portion size. My frozen yogurt was a bit more of an issue as they had forgot to turn the machine on until I went to use it so I then had to wait for it to cool down.
Quite a good store and I would happily return.
