Me and my girlfriend had been wondering about where to go for lunch as we wished to go see a film, but we wanted a proper lunch without having to walk a lot so as to not be late for the movie. I remembered that the Aldershot branch had opened not too long ago and my girlfriend found it was built as part of a new entertainment/dining complex which had a Cineworld at its core so off we went!

Parking is available not too far away from the venue, about a five minute walk but can be pricey so be aware and carry a lot of change. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and got us seated quickly. The Aldershot branch suffers from two things; a lack of space which in turn causes a lack of originality in its layout. It's all down to getting as many people as possible inside. As a result, the decor is mostly restricted to the walls and the ceiling (which must be said was quite striking!). The tables were clean and plentiful so you're not likely to wait for one unless you REALLY hit the dinnertime window on a Friday/Saturday night.

The food was quick to arrive which is an immediate plus. Instead of my usual ratatouille side, I went for the sweet potato mash. It was a pleasant twist which complemented my Mango and Lime chicken. We noted that the fruitily marinated chicken was especially full of personality; never before had I had a peri-peri sauce which was so full of flavour! We guessed it might be down to the newness of the outlet but still, it was a surprise to which I hope to experience again. The chicken itself was tender and went down great with the flavour of the marinade.

So to sum up, Aldershot should be proud of this Nando's. It's a fine figure of an eatery. It rivals Guildford, in terms of distance to where I live; and may now be a viable alternative. A fine addition to the Peri-Peri parade!
