Beckenham - Marc Joss Review
A misty Monday seemed a good time to visit my 195th different Nando's, especially when I discovered that the train journey to Beckenham was surprisingly quick and easy from Mill Hill Broadway with only a single change required at Herne Hill.
This Nando's is just over a five-minute walk from Beckenham Junction station and tram stop and is on a high street alongside other chain restaurants, shops and an Odeon cinema so ideal for the popular Nando's & film combo. I was welcomed in my manager Taylor and given my choice of table in what is quite a small Nando's with quite a rigid table structure and no outstanding decor to report.
There was no queue to order and my food arrived within 5 minutes which was fantastic. I claimed an orange reward (my usual half chicken extra hot) and went for my standard sides of peri chips and garlic bread after branching out on my two previous Nando's last week (sweet potato wedges and corn on the cob). The chicken was absolutely covered in sauce, wholesome and spicy, perfect! The chips portion was generous and the peri salt was generous so this has to be a 5 which was sealed by the fact that Aliona kindly offered me two little plastic tubs of mayo straight away which avoided the annoyance of having to ration in a bid not to run out later on during the meal. All Nando's should do this or provide more generous mayonaise portions in a ceramic pot in my opinion!
The staff were great and I had a lovely chat with manager Taylor. Nando's 196 was a resounding success!
