A visit to Shirley Nando's with our local veggie expert was a fitting way to round off a day in Birmingham speaking at a local school about life as a football translator and interpreter.

This is a busy part of the city, particularly with plenty of schools in the area and parking isn't that straightforward. I ended up driving past the Nando's (with it on my right) and parking down a side road a few hundred metres down.

There are plenty of supermarkets and other establishments on the high street, but I was only interested in halloumi skewers at Nando's!

The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic, but it's clear that this Nando's hasn't had much done to it in a while. It is quite dark inside and could do with a spruce-up!

My food arrived swiftly and both starter and main were of a good standard. My chicken wrap was nicely cooked and there was a good helping of peri salt on my chips. I was pleased to make it to my 251st Nando's and the drive home on the M40 was smooth as well.

Hopefully this Nando's gets some Nando's love from head office and if they keep up the good food and friendly staff, it will certainly be one of the best in Birmingham!
