Birmingham - Star City - Marc Joss Review
With an afternoon train booked back to London, the big question was which Nando's I should visit beforehand. Star City got the nod and I got the train to Aston then walked (about 20 minutes) on the way there and then got the 66 bus back to Birmingham city centre (remember you need exact change for Birmingham buses which cost £2).
I arrived at the restaurant at around 12.15 and there were almost as many Nandocas as Nandoers in the house! This Nando's has been around for almost 15 years but you wouldn't really know it. Varied artwork is dotted around and the ceilings are rather high with a type of bamboo effect fitting the Nando's feel.
I had a lovely chat with the Nandocas and manager when ordering; they were particularly impressed with my t-shirt of course :). By the time I had collected some cutlery, sauce and washed my hands, my food was on already on the table and it looked great. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is that it could have been slightly spicier. Even though it's a halal Nando's, no sign of smaller chickens on this occasion.
There is a cinema, laser quest and some shops in Star City too. Also ideal for a pre or post match Nando's for anyone going to Villa Park. I hope to go back soon!
