Birmingham - Star City - Ryan Review
Star City (or Stab City as it used to be affectionately called to the locals) became known as the one entertainment complex to avoid very quickly after its opening. It used to boast trendy up scale clubs that hooligans would put on their finest Rockports and Lacoste shirts and go boogeying and fighting on a Saturday night (and I'm not talking about an Elton John song either). Over the past couple of years though, there has been some redevelopment going on and, from what I have seen in the news recently, even more money will be invested into the run down appearance of the leisure park - so it's probably much nicer nowadays!
The last time I went to Nando's here was a while ago and so I think I hit it during a transitional period. It may be better these days - but I'll generally always go to other Birmingham Nando's to get my fix.
Star City is located just of the M6 in the N/NE area of Birmingham - and is a huge complex with loads of activities on offer: bowling, cinema, Goals Football Centre to name but a few. The car park is enormous too and is completely free.
The Nando's (at least at the time I last went) was reasonable. I think it was only the second one in Brum at the time too, so needless to say it was busy. I wasn't disappointed with it either: the food came quickly and was as expected. The staff weren't as cheery as they probably could have been, but I guess it's because it was pretty busy on the Saturday night.
