Well, I popped in for a takeaway on the first payday of 2012. Firstly I did a telephone order prior to collection and the lady taking the order was very polite & friendly, after a 5 minute drive I arrived to the restaurant to collect and was greeted by the staff as I came into the restaurant and at the till whilst I paid (staff were very friendly & polite).

I then waited probably about 10 minutes (baring in mind when I called I said I would collect in 10 minutes so maybe took longer than I anticipated).

General observations whilst waiting (baring in mind I had nothing else to do...) was that the restaurant was very busy (being a Friday night), tables full, people waiting, lots of young nandoers running around the place and plenty of food waiting on the podium (for better use of a word) waiting to be delivered to the tables (didn't appear to be much urgency for the food to be taken to the tables!). From what I could see the staff were trying there best and was very busy but seemed like too much happening at once with the food orders, tills, people waiting etc.

Got my food after about a 10 minute wait, lady checked that everything was correct to the receipt (please note that last time I did a takeout they forgot my peri chips so fairplay for them learning to check the receipt to the order this time!) and off home I went to enjoy the meal...

After flooring the car home in the horrible wet conditions and running through the front door I tucked straight into the Nando's meal (Extra Hot Wings, Garlic Bread & Peri Chips!).....the peri chips tasted lovely, the garlic bread was just right and the wings were....NOOOOO.....undercooked. All slippery, very little sauce on it and very very white, almost pale, lightyears away from what I expect my extra hot wings to be, I tried my best to eat the wings (not enjoying it) and had to leave two of my five wings which was an all time first. Very disappointed but did get the feeling that everything was rushed given how busy the restaurant was. It rarely happens that I encounter a bad experience and I did tweet my feelings to Nando's (have yet to receive any acknowledgement of my bad experience) so guess it may be an unfortunate one off.

So yeah overall the staff were fantastic, the service was not too bad (they did put cutlery, serviettes etc in the takeaway bag) but the wings were a big let down. Had I been sitting in for the evening I would have complained but unfortunately being a takeaway there wasn't much I could really do at the time. Maybe I'll have to inspect the wings prior to leaving next time!
