Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

In Essex for a couple of days, so what better way to celebrate (??) than, as the locals would say, goinNandos! I got to Brentwood at about 9pm on this Tuesday evening, and the whole town centre was very quiet - including Nando's.

There is cheap parking at the nearby Sainsbury's (only 5 minutes walk away), which will cost you up to £2.50 for three hours (max) stay, between 7am-7pm. If shopping at Sainsbury's you can then claim this back with a £5 purchase instore. On this occasion I parked at the William Hunter Way car park which was a couple minutes walk from Nando's and free! Between 6am-7pm an average of £1/hour applies, from 7pm-9pm a flat rate of £1 and 9pm-6am it is free! Sunday is also only £1 all day.

Brentwood train station is also only half a mile walk away - and the Ski slope complex is about 2 miles away.

The branch was very quiet with only a couple tables in use (it was after 9pm), so no wait to queue and the food came in 14 minutes - and the staff did everything expected of them.

There are tables either side of the entrance as you go in but then narrows towards the back where it becomes a bit tighter. 25 tables in all - one large corner booth towards the back, but otherwise bench/table/chair seating. Probably can't really cater for multiple large groups at a time, it seems - so almost certainly a long wait at busy times, fine for couples.

It is well decorated with half a dozen canvas paintings on the left and right walls before the branch narrows. Toilets were upstairs and very clean. There was a huge canvas in stairwell up to the toilets. The ceiling is inset wood-panelled running from the entrance all the way to the middle of the branch. The lighting is just stud/spot lights in ceiling, but was still bright enough.

The food itself was superb. A huge portion of chicken, well marinaded and cooked to perfection. A huge portion of hot crispy chips and a big portion of hot, moist rice. Really can't fault it at all.

This branch also has numerous offers on display by the till point. Chances to win a meal, collect double stamps and receive a 20% discount means this is certainly doing more than pretty much every branch I've seen, which was good to see.
