Brighton - Marina - Ryan Review
Spending the night in Brighton - so what better way than to squeeze in a Nando's at the new Marina branch? :-) I was staying the night in the City Centre, so a lovely 2-mile stroll along the sea front meant I was there in no time. There's plenty of free parking too (up to 4 hours) in the multi-storey car park - and you can also catch the electric railway from the Brighton Wheel all along the sea front if you really wanted to!
In the Marina there is heaps to do: a David Lloyd's gym, a casino, a Bowlplex and a cinema, along with many other eateries - along with a 24 Hour Asda.
It's a good size branch - 10 tables or so outside, along with a further 35+ inside, with a good mixture of circular booths, square booths and tables/chairs - meaning any size party can be accommodated. While I was there, a party of 16 had several tables pushed together.
You could easily tell this was a new branch too. All of the fixtures and fittings were still fresh with no scuffs or marks anywhere. The decor was interesting too. Big wavy grooves in the ceiling, mosaic style support pillars - with a few different types of wicker and gas lamp style light fixtures. With the toilets also being spotless (with two unusually large sinks!!) - this was a top notch branch. The fact you can sit outside gazing out into the Marina with a bear makes it even better.
I arrived here on Monday night at about 8pm and it was still quite busy inside. Only one table was free - so I was seated there straight away. No wait to order at the till - but a slightly disappointing 22 minutes for the food to come. It was worth the wait though as it was delicious. A good sized portion of chips and rice and a nice sized breast. Hot and moist throughout - although very little marinade on the outside - nothing the Extra Extra Hot sauce wouldn't cure though. Also had a cheesecake later on outside, which was very pleasant.
The staff were also very helpful and chatty. I had three different staff ask me what I was up to later or what I was in Brighton for (maybe they were all coming on to me) - but still, it was more than the normal "is everything alright".
All in all, a nice visit.
