Bugis Junction - Anonymous Review
I have eaten in multiple Nando's branches around the world including at least 20 different branches in the UK, branches in South Africa and in the U.A.E. Whilst there is some variability, the service has been generally good.
Yesterday was the first time I have visited a Nando's branch in Singapore and I have to say the experience was poor:
1. It took more than 30 minutes for our simple order of two burgers and chips to arrive. Nando's is supposed to be a Quick Service Restaurant? (Ordered at 19.29 and didn't get it until after 20.05)
2. Neither of the drinks ordered were served proactively, we had to go up to a waiter to request them. This is especially annoying as you cannot use the self-serve machine yourself (maybe due to COVID?) but there was usually no-one manning that area and the waiters were rarely nearby to approach so then we were stuck
3. The chips had very little peri peri salt seasoning on them
4. All items except the burger patty itself were served cold
5. Both orders had mistakes - one burger was served without the pineapple which had been ordered as part of the burger and was later served separately. I was told this is your standard operating procedure but I have never seen this done before in any other Nando's branch worldwide. Effectively you are asking your customers to create their own burger at the table.
6. For the other burger I ordered two slices of cheddar cheese but it only came with one. I then pointed it out and there was still some back and forth between the waiter, our table and the serving area and then eventually only brought out a pot of cheese sauce? Despite having the receipt to hand and explaining to the staff, I still had to be assertive on the pot being sent back and replaced with the cheese slice which I then have to add to the burger myself.
Overall appalling.
