Camden - Blaynos Review
The 30th RYN dinner took place in this Camden/Chalk Farm branch. Stormy outside and absolutely boiling inside is how it could probably be best described.
When we entered, we told the Nandoca that we were there for the dinner, and she went to get her manager, who then led us upstairs – seemed a bit odd she couldn’t do it herself. The heat was shocking upstairs, we had a long table with no gaps, nor one against the wall, so it was just generally quite awkward (there was a large school tourist group upstairs which made it even more cosy). I understand this was quite a last minute venue, but it’s difficult to forgive the temperature problems!
Headed downstairs to order after another winless raffle and long queues wound around the awkward layout. Ordered a butterfly burger, peri chips and halloumi; and then had a couple of the free wings and pitta on offer. Gallons of water were consumed to counter the heat.
My main meal was average – halloumi could’ve been bigger, as could the burger (especially after the huge one I had at Finsbury Park the night before, review coming), chips were fine though. Probably a 2.5 but I’ll up it to 3 thanks to the freebies.
Cruised to a quiz win with Steven and Liv and then off into the fresh air (did I mention it was hot inside?); another good event by Marc and James, although Camden continues to be an underwhelming branch.
