Canary Wharf - Jubilee Place - Gerry Louis Review
It had been 3 hours since my last Nando's but at least the staff here are better behaved than Cabot Place if not more clumsy by the sound of two broken glasses in the restaurant.
This restaurant is the first I've seen of its kind where the majority of the restaurant is actually outside, about 40 tables with no cover and maybe about 5 inside. It's very open just like the staff who were very friendly if not still a bit green.
Half chicken sweet mash free reward with sweet mash and a gooey caramel cheesecake this evening so I still got a chilli and also have a red reward to claim. Came within about ten minutes but the chicken was noticeably burnt and it was still pink inside. The mash, one was measly and two there was a big chunk missing in the middle of it! What kind of serving spoon do they have there cos they need a new one.
The cheesecake arrived in a plastic takeaway carton and why is a dessert served witH a fork and cream? I don't get it but it was cleaner than Cabot place, friendlier, open atmosphere and the restaurant is better looking. There was no art that I saw but the sculptures seem like one off pieces. There was a bird, anteater, griffin type thing looking down on the couple two tables away from me, and a rib cage type basket thing on the parallel table. I between each rowed section were a lot of ornate vases or jugs with varying patterns I was very impressed.
There's a lot to do in canary wharf so I could definitely find the time to go again. DLR, jubilee line make it easy to get to and this branch is much easier to find than the other so at least I've done them now...
