Cardiff - Old Brewery Quarter - Damien Review
The Nando's trail left England for the first time, taking us to Cardiff's very first Nando's in the Old Brewery Quarter, slap-bang in the centre of the city. Despite it being midday on Saturday (and St David's Day at that), the place wasn't too busy and our group of four were given a table right away.
Looks-wise, the restaurant itself is very middle of the road. No fancy light fittings or artwork of significant note (other than maybe a large weird table in the waiting area). This also extended to the food. The service was very friendly and super fast, but the food was pretty Nando's average. The Halal sign meant smaller chicken. My half was a bit watery in places and dry in other places, and my peri chips were lacking in peri salt. These are all minor complaints though. The service was above what I'd normally expect, with almost every member of staff popping over to our table at some point to ask if we we alright/were missing/needing anything.
If it wasn't for the fact that we were in Wales and got to meet/dance with Barcelos after, this trip would be forgettable.
