Carousel Westfield - Anonymous Review

We have eaten at this Nandos many times over the past years however we were quite dissapointed after our visit this evening. We are aware that this store gets quite busy at times, its was a Sat evening so was expecting it would be however we just feel the standards and service at this store have dropped a bit compared to previous visits. A few things that went wrong- we had ordered a whole chicken, 3 sides and 2 burgers. We were told the chicken would be a 30min min wait which was fine. The problem was that about 5mins later they brought all the sides and the 2 burgers to the table. We asked again at this point and they said the chickens were still in the oven so would be a while so we asked the sides to go back under the heat lamps as we wanted them hot to have with the chicken. The burgers were served in cold buns that hadnt been warmed. After waiting the 30min we had noticed that about 3 tables that had placed orders after us had received whole chickens to their table. I asked a waiter who had just brought one out to check on our order. He never came back but 5 mins later another boy brought out our chicken. We then had to ask for the sides to go with it. The chicken was covered in quite a lot of basting- which is fine we love the basting but as we began to eat it we could tell it hadn't been char grilled. It was like having just roast chicken and sauce. I think they short cut and just served it covered in extra sauce to hide the fact. Disappointing as it really lacked the flavour not being char grilled. The staff seemed to be struggling to keep up with keeping cutlery and plates stocked up. I asked for forks at one stage and got told they were in the dishwasher with no offer to get me any or bring them out when they finished washing. We didn't have plates so just shared off the serving plates. Overall I think the store needs a mature manager to oversee things as all the staff seemed very young and a bit inexperienced.
