Catford - Pompey Ranger Review
This Nando's on the main strip in Catford doesn't look the most amazing from the outside, but I feel that sums up the whole of Catford. It's well connected for the bus routes and is just round the corner from the Broadway theatre so provides excellent opportunity for pre-show chicken. And they have made a big effort with on street beatification with 2 large tubs containing trees either side of the doorway.
Once inside the store is quite compact with air conditioning on the ceiling. The majority of the seating is tables and wooden chair styles with a small amount of comfortable benches in the middle and some good booths on the back wall with arched cloth ceilings. A nice amount of art and object d'art though the magnolia walls would be oppressive if not for the red walls along the back.
The tills and serving counter were on the right and the beverage station at the back and was clean and I was pleased to see a good variety of sauces available.
I was greeted upon entry and offered my choice of tables so opted for one in the window was pleased to be quickly served by a very bubbly chatty waitress. Food was about 15 minutes wait. The chip portion size was good and they were well cooked, the chicken wasn't too bad but it was slightly more cooked than I'd go for in an ideal world and the skin more browned than I'd choose but not to the point where it would stop me enjoying the meal.
The toilets had a new lock on the cubicle which was missing the last time I came in so pleased to see they have taken care of some issues. The toilets themselves are desperately in need of a lick of paint as had some graffiti, outline of the old hand dryer which was larger than the new one so left a ring of lack of paint and also a lot of marks, scrapes and dirt on the walls.
The staff definitely made this store and the food was good so would be happy to recommend it.
