As a Medway resident I ruddy love that we have a Nandos, Chatham Nandos is the only 1 in the towns of nearly 250k people. The next nearest is the Maidstone branch. This would explain why you very rarely see this branch empty.

As a frequent visitor to this branch i have now become recognised amongst the staff, which is great as they know exactly what i am going to order everytime. Nandos worker 'Chris' is a very nice chap, says hello to everyone and engages the customer to make their experience enjoyable.

Chatham Nandos is situated amongst a row of restuarants with the Dockside shopping outlet. The parking is free and you can literaly park outside. As part of a huge complex there are many restaurants and a cinema and a pub on the site. It is always the only restaurant that has people queuing for a table, sometimes stretching out the door, showing peoples utter craving for some chicken. That is 1 of the only negatives about this branch, is that it is a small branch. If your in a group of more than 6, it is very unlikely you will all be able to si together. They should consider moving into the much bigger premises next door and creating a two tiered Nandos.

The staff are superb, very friendly, and the woman that work there are almost as tasty as the chicken. A definite perk of the visit.

It is a 1 floored branch, with pretty artwork on the walls. Music is upbeat, but not overly loud so you can have conversation and not be shouting.

I made my visit on a Tuesday around 1400, and for that time of day it was very busy. A mixture of people on dates, mothers with toddlers, groups of nandoholics and some Nando virgins (noticed by asking how to order).

I order the same everytime I go, Half Chicken (hot) Spicy Rice, Sweet Potato Mash, and a Mango cooler. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come, however this was to me very quick and gave me time to get settled and chat away to my fellow Nando conniseur. The chicken was moist and dripping in sauce. The rice was clearly freshly made as it wasnt stuck to the side of the pot as recieved in some branches. The ssweet potato mash was huge, much bigger than normal. Not that i was complaining much, maybe becuase i was a regular visitor, or the girl behind the counter thought i was pretty. Probably neither, just a stroke of luck.

Nandos chatham offers 20% for hospital workers, police, ambulance crews and prison officers. Often you see a copper popping in for a huge takeaway bag of Nandos.

Overall out of 10 for this visit, I would give a rating of 9. The reason for 1 point being knocked off and the toilets could of done with a freshen up.

Top tip for this branch - Great of your going on a date, but arrive early. If planning on going a Friday/Saturday night, get there around 630. Any later and it could be 30 minute wait minimum to be seated.
