Our visit to Nando’s 72 in Chiswick attracted an above-average huddle of guests. Nestled between gastropubs and boutiques on the high-class highstreet, the interior of the restaurant was unlike any I've come across before. The clean and downplayed corridor layout was more akin to a wine bar or GBK than any Nando’s I've visited. Going on a midweek evening, our group of six was seated straight away in the probably less than half full restaurant. The staff were all friendly and well clued-up. The few mistakes that were made with the orders (no coleslaw coming out, etc) were rectified swiftly and without the need for receipt scrutinisation.
The food itself was pretty good. Above average I’d say. Definitely for a London Nando’s. Everything was hot and not over/under cooked and most of the food was brought out at the same time. My only slight problem with the place was that the queuing system at the till isn't marked out clearly. I joined an already 3 person long queue, only to be told by a member of staff a minute or so later that we were queuing the wrong side, in a tone of voice that suggested we should already know this (despite no signs and the fact that neither way seemed to make any more or less sense than the other).
While the restaurant itself was a bit bland-looking, the food certainly wasn't. Definitely one of the better London Nando’s I've visited recently.
