Chiswick - Ryan Review
On my way back home, popped into Chiswick and another Nando's! It was early afternoon (about 1:30pm), so traffic wasn't too busy. Right outside the Nando's is a small car park which is shared by the other shops here too, so it was busy and is priced at £1/30mins for a 2-hour maximum stay. There were plenty of other street bays (priced the same) but again all taken, so I opted to park in Sainsbury's which was just half a mile walk down the High Street. There is also a 2-hour maximum stay, but people who spend £5 at Sainsbury's can get their card validated, otherwise it is priced free/30mins, £1/1hr and £2/2hrs. Turnham Green tube station is the nearest, being a few minutes walk away - and Chiswick Train Station is about a mile walk away.
It wasn't particularly busy in Nando's and only a few tables in use, so was seated straight away. Infact the next 20 or so parties that came in were all seated the second they walked through the door - bang, bang, bang - very quick staff here, which was also the case with the food, as that came in four minutes.
This is probably an above average Nando's for the decor, but not quite a '4' I don't think...
Immediately as you enter, to the right of the door is the front seating section of tables/chairs in the large sort of bay window seating area, with some wicker baskets for light shades. The wall immediately on your left by the entrance has 10 or so canvas paintings on it. From here the restaurant narrows slightly - past the till and a couple booths opposite either side of the drinks station and past the toilet entrance (toilets downstairs were very spacious and clean too) - right to the back, where it opens up a lot more. Here, there are some larger full leather cushioned booths and many more tables/chairs.
I went for the chicken burger and chips and it was delicious. A very good size chicken breast piece indeed - completely filling the bun, and very moist and saucy. This came with a large portion of chips, which were a bit mixed - some hot and crispy, others soggy.
