Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

Opening day - and I happened to be in the area for lunch! Use NN17 1QD for the postcode if driving. There are plenty of car parks in the area too, including a large one on the Argos/Oasis retail park priced at 50p/hr Mon-Sat 8am-6:30pm, 50p after 6:30pm and free on Sundays which is just over the road from the new Nando's. Corby train station is also about a mile walk away. Opening this month (June 2015) is also a Savoy Cinema next to Nando's.

Arrived at Corby Nando's at about 2pm and there were just a few tables in use. There are quite a few tables outside, so on a summer's day may be okay - but there is a large taxi rank right by where you'd be sat. Inside there is a good mix of seating including five larer circular booths in the middle of the restaurant and further square booths on the back wall. The far back right is also where the toliets are found. The ceiling is almost all made up of wooden slats hanging down in the style of a slate roof and from these glass orbs hanging down for lights. There are also angle-poise lamps on some of the two-seater tables, overall it does seem a little dark inside, despite a couple of large windows at the front. There are small canvas paintings on the wall to the right of the entrance, some on the back wall and further on the walls leading to the toliets. The wall behind the drinks/sauces is tiled in turquoise. The toilets were spotless, with a light brown/grey triangular pattern and a large circular mirror.

The food arrived in 9 minutes and was a a little below a standard meal. I went for chicken fillet burger and chips. The burger ciabatta was crispy but very floury. The chicken breast fillet was a little dry and chewy and didn't fill the bun at all. There marinade was limited but then there was a huge dollop of mayonnaise. The slice of tomato was large as the lettuce in abundance. Chips were hot and crispy and an average sized portion.

Being the first day there were loads of staff about, but most were behind the till or at the entrance... so there were plenty to check on me during my meal, but nobody did...
