Sometimes we spend a long time planning things and sometimes we end up in the same place at the same time by coincidence and on this occasion, that coincided with the unique potential to visit a Nando's with a view of the tallest building in the world (all 829 metres of it) along with a spectacular light show and incredible food that you don't get at UK Nando's!
Dubai Mall (the biggest in the world) was the setting for our first international Nando's together as James, Olive and my son AJ tucked into delicious peri-peri chicken with a sumptuous view of the Burj Khalifa after three of us had whizzed up to the top viewing level to take in Dubai by night. It really was incredible.
As for the food itself, the espetada is a wonderful invention that involves peri-peri chicken hanging off a skewer that is brought to your table along with a plentiful supply of sauce. The skewer itself is sharp and metal so slightly stressful in the presence of an adventurous five-year-old but worth it nevertheless!
My son loved his chicken wings and we devoured our peri chips, rice and halloumi as well. With the current exchange rate one adult meal and one children's meal cost about £30 so a bit more than the UK but certainly not extortionate and there is table service in Dubai.
It did start raining during our meal and the staff kindly found us a table downstairs to finish off! Our food was there before we arrived and the staff were delightful so it's 5/5 all round for me!
