On my holiday to Dubai I decided to exhibit my nan-dedication and went on a Peri Peri-Pilgrimage to the Dubai Marina to munch on some top quality chicken with my "Nando's on Holiday" sceptical mother.

On Arrival at the Dubai Marina I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the setting all around the restaurant. The Dubai Marina Scape restaurant is set on the delightful Dubai Marina and surrounded by the incredible Blade Runner-esque twisted, massive and shiny sky scrappers Dubai is famous for. The restaurant has seating outside in the sun and under canopies so you can enjoy the beautiful veiw and additional seating inside and has lovely flags and interesting artwork inside. Sadly, its lavatorial facilities are not in the restaurant and are down a dark corridor in the building the restaurant is housed in and despite their cleanliness leave a little to be desired.

Our Waiter was very nice, helpful and speedy and answered all our question and with many different dishes on the menu that was very helpful. The manager however, a man named Marvin, was one of the rudest men I have ever met, he was not polite or friendly and became very defensive as we found fault with some of the food. He did after a great deal of persuasion take the bad food off the menu but was noticeably angry and did not say goodbye when we left although he was at the door.

Nando's UAE is rather different, with multiple interesting an different dishes including an aubergine, onion and humous chicken burger or wrap, many specials, a delivery of all the sauces in special bottles to your table by your waiter and a variety or mocktails, you also ORDER AT TABLES which is rather shocking but very relaxing! And ...they deliver! ALL VERY EXCITING!

Our personal visit in spite of the beautiful vista and with excellent service to the table was marred by the food and the behaviour of the manager. The rice which was a main part of both of our dishes was disgusting made out of noodles cut up and the cheese cake was cold and hard and vile and totally inedible. The chicken however was cooked beautifully and tasted fantastic which in my humble opinion is far more important than the quality of the spicey rice. Therein, my suggestion is to indulge in a chicken and chips and have a fantastic sun kissed lunch whilst steering clear of Marvin, the rude manager.

For those who were wondering, my mother conquers saying " never been a fando but but could easily be seduced by a mock Caipirinha in such a sexy setting."

Many thanks,

SVC
