A pre-match Nando's was in order after a 2 hour drive from London up to the West Midlands. According to the Rate Your Nando's Map, the nearest Nando's to the Hawthorns at present is Dudley Nando's and we were pleased to find it on a lovely spring afternoon even though our sat nav struggled as the leisure park doesn't have a number. We were able to park right outside the restaurant and it was free of course, bonus!

As in many leisure centres, Park Royal and Stevenage come to mind, the restaurant is in its own building which adds an extra Nando's feel to the place. On entering, we had a choice of a plethora of tables since there were only two other parties there at the time. The staff seemed friendlier than your average London Nando's and you could tell they were all locals with genuine Nando's passion.

We ordered instantly and the only oddity was that we were given 3 glasses of tap water between 2 of us and it didn't look very water like but after a few seconds, it cleared up. The water dispenser was obviously out of order but staff made it clear they were happy to refill our glasses for us! Food arrived promptly and portion sizes were big! It had been a while since half a chicken, large peri chips and halloumi had filled me up completely but that was the case on this visit. Mark was unhappy with the stingy peri salt dosage on his chips which was the only complaint.

This was the 100th Nando's to open in the UK and it perhaps felt more recent than that (early 2000s) with some interesting artwork on the walls and a middle section dividing tables with pottery and other pieces in individual sections.

All in all, a great Nando's followed by a fantastic Arsenal win. Fully recommended!
