Ealing - Bond Street - Marc Joss Review
This branch has a modern feel to it, much more so than its neighbour Ealing Common!
As I walked in with my mother on an overcast Wednesday afternoon, we were greeted by a smiley Nandoca who gave us our choice of table. There was no queue to order and everything ran smoothly. I was warned food would take 10-15 minutes to arrive but to my pleasant surprise, within 7 or 8 minutes, both orders were on the table ready to be demolished. That has to be a solid 4 for service.
The chicken was dripping sauce and it looked far more wholesome than average. The 2 portions of peri chips came half on the plate and half in a bowl, all of which had been generously sprinkled with peri peri salt. The haloumi could have been grilled for slightly longer but all in all, well above average so a 4 for food.
The branch itself has tables on the left and right as you enter with the tills straight ahead and one drinks/cutlery station on the right. I can imagine that the branch can handle busy times as there is a large sofa for people waiting for takeaways or a table and there is quite a lot of space by the tills for a queue to form without it interfering with the door and other customers (a common problem at North Finchley for example). There is a wide range of lighting which caught my eye although one particular type could be a hazard for any humans of average (or above) height. There are a few booths too which are always preferable in my opinion! One other noticeable décor aspect is the pillars which split part of the restaurant from the toilets in very typical Nando's fashion. The 2 main pieces of artwork which I noticed were a rather intriguing blue painting (which I rather like) near the toilets and another which depicts a large group of people seemingly standing around (which did less for me). All in all, 4/5 for decor/cleanliness.
We were of course checked up on during our meal and we both felt like the Nandoca truly cared rather than a more robotic approach which can happen from time to time. We felt welcomed and appreciated but there was nothing out of the ordinary to report. 3.5/5 for staff.
The surrounding area is full of shops and other restaurants. There is a Primark nearby which is ideal for me! Other shops include H & M, Tesco and Boots. Parking at the shopping centre is around £1 an hour.
A good Nando's experience to sum up and I will be sure to return!
