This excellent Nando's is found just over a mile off the M3 or M27 (right by Southampton Airport) in the relatively new Swan Centre. The Swan Centre has hundreds of parking spaces priced at £1.10 per hour during the day, or £2.20 for anything over an hour after 6pm - so pretty cheap parking. There's an AMF bowling alley and a Vue Cinema too, both quite modern, so seems like a good place to come for an evening.
The branch itself is very well decorated and laid out. Two-tiered, with larger groups undoubtedly sat on the raised section at the back where more settees are located. More tables and chairs on the lower section. Probably 15-20 tables in each section will mean it doesn't get too overcrowded. Large full length windows on the lower section let plenty of light in and some great lighting inside (including empty Nando's bottles within the ceiling). Plenty of canvas paintings on the walls too. The wall where the drinks machine is, is all disjointed/uneven wood panelling - and the back wall on the top section has unusual cermaic/metallic plates/tiles. This together with further sculptues (some 4 foot high) and other pots/plants (inc a huge pot in the spotlessly clean toilet) - make for a very impressive Nando's.
Staff were friendly to everybody in the restaurant. There were some Nando's virgins having the whole ethos explained to them, and there was certainly a good relationship between the staff. Very efficient on the till and helpful throughout.
Arrived about 6:15pm and there were half a dozen tables occupied, so no time to wait for anything really, with the food coming in 8 minutes.
The food was superb. Huge portion of chicken. An enormous breast and leg, both with plenty of meat on them - grilled to perfection. They were very well marinated, piping hot and very, very moist. The chips and rice were both scorching too and the rice was very moist. The food was excellent.
A very good Nando's experience indeed! This excellent Nando's is found just over a mile off the M3 or M27 (right by Southampton Airport) in the relatively new Swan Centre. The food was superb. Huge portion of chicken. An enormous breast and leg, both with plenty of meat on them - grilled to perfection. They were very well marinated, piping hot and very, very moist. The meat was very white too - right down to the bone. The chips and rice were both scorching too and the rice was very moist. The food was excellent - it really was.
A very good Nando's experience indeed!
