Edinburgh - Chambers Street - Pompey Ranger Review
This large store takes up 2 shop fronts on the corner of Chambers street and George iv bridge, whilst it appears to have 2 entrances one is fake with only the corner door being the correct one. Its close to the castle and other sights so provides a great break amidst the sightseeing.
Once inside we were given table 7 which is right next to the fake door and so provides the entertainment of watching people approach and fail to get in. The store is quite new and as such is well decorated. The entrance and service area in in the older corner building which resembles a bank from outside and then has a few steps up to the next seating area with plate glass windows looking onto the street. From here a lift or stairs take you either down to the basement where the toilets are or up to the 1st floor where there is an extended seating area and a second service area. The toilets were clean, however one of the locks on the cubicles of the women's toilets is broken so once in you can become stuck.
Scotland is trialling a rewards card system so you can't use your stamps card but you can get a reward card and start collecting afresh.
The chips were generous and well cooked, the chicken was a massive portion though slightly cooked more than my liking but not to the point of burning.
This was a nice store and I would be happy to return if in the area.
