Edinburgh - Fountain Park - Ryan Review
Onto my second Nando's of the day and visited Fountain Park. Got to this one at about 4:30pm and it was almost empty when I arrived, but nearly full by the time I left! It's located on the Fountain Park "Entertainment Centre", which means there is also a Genting Casino, a Tenpin bowling alley and a Cineworld all onsite, as well as a Virgin Active and other eateries. It's half a mile walk from Haymarket train station and you can get free parking in the underground garage for up to four hours - so long as you get your parking ticket validated inside Nando's! Otherwise it's £3.50 for four hours.
This certainly seems like a slightly older Nando's. Lots of brown and beige everywhere, including the terracotta floor tiles. There are some high ceiling inside and so a couple of brown chandeliers for the main lighting together with other beige lampshades. On the right hand side wall are some large booths with backs that run all the way up to the ceiling, to fill some of the space. I don't know if the artwork mentioned in previous reviews by others was away for dusting, but the walls looked a little bare. There's a good size seating area for waiters too just inside-left as you enter.
The food came out in a lightning 3 minutes and I'm pleased to say that my mini-bun must have been a one off as a normal sized bun came with my next chicken fillet burger - and this time the chicken breast was even thicker, juicier and saucier. The chip portion was larger too and all the chips were hot and crispy. Almost the perfect burger, only the tomato and lettuce slice was a bit small.
Staff were friendly and pleasant but doing as expected.
