Festival City Mall - James RYN Review
My first Nando's in a new country is always an exciting day, and this was no exception, as I visited my first Qatari Nando's!
As suspected, it was a very similar experience to Nando's dining in neighbouring UAE. Firstly, we were served at the table, which I always find quite painful in Nando's, and secondly, the food was decidedly average and left me wanting. Last but not least, the whole meal was on the pricey side, definitely costing more than the UK, and not helped of course by the weak £ in September 2019.
I went for the double pitta with peri-chips, and the chicken was like in Australia, being in strips and not a whole breast piece. Strips suit a wrap well, but in pitta form it meant different strips were coming out at different angles, and it was very difficult to eat. After getting about halfway through it all fell apart, and I had to resort to a knife and fork! It was quite spicy and tasty, but it is always a sad moment when I am reduced to eating a pitta or wrap with cutlery.
On the side, I had peri-chips, though with a very disappointing amount of peri. I asked a waitress for some more, and she brought me over an empty shaker! All this was done in a very rushed manner, so I can't rate the staff higher than a 2/5 unfortunately.
Overall, nothing outstanding here. I'll check out another Nando's tomorrow, but probably won't do a second one today as originally planned...
