Gloucester Road - Blaynos Review
Gloucester Road Nando's is just about a stone's throw away from the tube station (look right from the station exit; served by Circle & District lines and usually Picc too, but temporarily not-stopping due to upgrade works) and it's quite a pretty corner branch with especially nice lighting inside. It's a two-level branch but I didn't go upstairs. Two downsides with this branch is that every time the door opens, an icy breeze rushes through the restaurant and the Christmas Tree looked very sad and poorly decorated! Sauce station located opposite the kitchen counter at the centre of the restaurant (till just by the entrance, as is the staircase).
Have to say, while the staff were friendly enough, they did seem somewhat incompetent. There were over half a dozen behind the cashiers/kitchen but most seem to just be standing around doing nothing. I was amazed that I even had to queue given that only one till was open during the lunch period while Nandocas just milled about. Likewise, food took an absolute age to come, and I can't comprehend why. Then there was the food, which was just unfathomably bad. Smallest piece of chicken in my burger, almost no peri salt on my chips, and just a catastrophic excuse for garlic bread (burnt and flavourless).
Such a shame given how nice the branch itself is but c'est la vie. Doubt I'll be heading back here soon.
