Nando's number 45 for me
Turn right from Gloucester Road Tube Station and it’s a short walk up on the left-hand side.
This is a very busy branch, although we got a table almost immediately, upstairs. Masses of people milling around by the door/tills, making it difficult to gain access to the stairs. Managed to fight our way through the pushchairs, eventually.
My order placement was quick and painless. Then made my way back up the stairs to collect our cutlery and sauces. Still no straws, presume Nando are still attempting to source a “green” option???
My meal arrived after around 10 minutes, can’t complain about that. Sadly, a very different story for my lovely dining companion, who actually ordered before me. Am guessing her wait was at least 30 minutes AND she needed to trek downstairs to enquire of its whereabouts.
Had my usual main of quarter chicken EXTRA HOT with g bread/sweet potato mash/haloumi. The meal was delicious. Apart from some minor charcoal- like bits on the chicken! Mash was the smoothest yet. The garlic bread seemed to have a different texture than usual, it seemed crumbly.
The toilets are in the basement, and in dire need of some tlc. From the three available ladies loo options, NONE had a functioning lock.
Some lovely beaded artwork dotted around upstairs, where there is also an art installation around the drinks/cutlery station, consisting of fizzy drinks cans stuck the to the wall. Sounds hideous, I know, but it’s actually very eye-catching. Could do with a clean though……..
