Greenwich - Peninsula - Ryan Review
So... as I recall it... this is the last Nando's for inside the M25 (until Enfield opens)... so I was hoping it'd be a good one! It's on a retail park that is shared by an Odeon IMAX, a big Sainsbury's, B&Q, Matalan and a Prezzo. There is free parking in one of the thousand+ spaces with a five-hour maximum stay.
I got here at 8pm and it was almost full. This is a very standard Nando's these days. Immediately as you enter is the waiting area with a small sofa - crowded if people are waiting for collection... Then infront of you from here is the till with the restaurant in a sort of V-shape around the till. A circular booth at the end of the left section/side. Bench style seating running along the back half of the left V and the front half of the right V. Full length windows in the front of the left V. Mainly tables/chairs. All very tightly packed especially when the tables down the middle of the left V are split from four-seaters into two-seaters! There are some colourful blinds in the windows, which have seen better days.
There are some very large paintings on the right hand wall as you enter. I think the biggest one is of a sausage on a fork... but I could be wrong. There's also a large skylight in the right side of the restaurant with some ivy hanging down from it.
Lighting is mainly spotlights. There are a couple of old style brown chandeliers in the left hand side and brown wicker cones above the seating in the windows - with a few small red cones above the till.
Toilets are at the far right and a quite small. There was some odd green gunk on the urinal pipes which made for an interesting feature... There were also some paper towels on offer!
Staff were fine and doing as expected and brought the food over in 12 minutes. I went for yet another half chicken, chips, rice and ratatouille. It was a good size chicken - a tad too greasy though - some pools of grease formed on the plate as I was tucking in. I also received a very good sized, hot and saucy ratatouille - with a standard potion of chips and rice, which were both warm enough. There was quite a bit of grease from the chicken, so I think overall this has to be a 3.
