Hammersmith - Marc Joss Review
I decided to pop into this branch a month after its hatching to see how everything is going and wasn't disappointed! The decor is impressive with a huge abacus (manager Robbie reiterated no other branch has one) in between the tables which greet you on the left as you walk in and some stunning pieces of South African artwork dotted around towards the back. I happened to be sitting on a sofa which had easily 100 carefully carved and painted pots behind it; no question that this branch has a quirky Nando's feel to it!
I chose a good time to visit since it was lunchtime on New Year's Eve which meant that fewer people were about than usual but queues have been known to get extremely large as there is not much competition in the vicinity and it is brilliantly positioned opposite the main entrance to Hammersmith Tube. I'd therefore recommend an evening visit and it is definitely your best bet if you want to combine a meal with any sort of concert visit at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
There was hardly a queue to order and all the Nandocas seemed to be enjoying themselves and have genuine smiles on their faces. Food came pretty quickly and I went for a quarter breast (always specify, remember) with peri chips and garlic bread. I would have liked a slightly bigger portion of chips plus some of them were a tad deformed but I was satisfied on completion.
All in all, it is well worth a visit if you have the luxury of choosing from the various west London branches! I hope to go back soon and Happy New Year!
