Harlow - Ryan Review
This Nando's is located on the Water Gardens complex, which is well sign-posted by road. Parking is can be claimed back for up to two hours for anyone using Asda or Matalan - otherwise it is priced at 50p for the evening (8pm-6am) and all day Sunday - or Monday-Friday 90p/2hrs, £1/3hrs, £3/4hrs and upwards from there and a little dearer than that on Saturdays. It's a retail outlet, so the nearest cinema is 1.5 miles away - with the nearest train station (Harlow Town) also being 1.5 miles walk away.
The Nando's itself is a good size - with high ceilings giving a nice airy feel. There are three large red chandeliers down the restaurant - along with three huge wooden and brass-plated clad pillars down the middle of the restaurant, which also act as backs to multiple booths. There's a huge canvas painting on the wall to the left as you enter - with a few more large canvasses on the right wall.
Very good mixture of tables/chairs, bench and booth seating all the way from the front to the back of the restaurant. Also, right at the back is a shelving unit made to look homely with photo frames and decorative plates on it. The stairwell up to the toliets is also very nicely decorated, with a further red chandelier, several canvas paintings and an orange/red painted curved wall at the top of the stairs.
I arrived just before 8 and it was about 3/4 full with only a couple minutes queue to order and the food came in just under 25 minutes. It was nice too - the chicken was another generous portion, well cooked - hot and moist - and plenty of sauce. The rice was towerig too and was hot and moist and the chips were equally generous in size and again, hot and crispy. Superb.
Staff seemed short on the ground so were rushing about and doing everything expected of them.
