Hemel Hempstead - Marc Joss Review
This visit was memorable because it was my first Nando's since the new menu items were added and based on this visit, Nando's has got them just right. Not only that, but this was my first visit to the recently opened Hemel Hempstead Nando's. It's a funky one with a very high ceiling and an impressive range of artwork and lighting. The outside area contains some very comfortable, green seats, but it was slightly too cold on this visit to consider an outdoor meal.
The staff were brilliant and happy to help with smiles on all their faces. We were told by manager Artur that the majority of Nandocas on the restaurant floor were actually teenagers and that Hemel Hempstead is a particularly young area.
As for my order itself, I went for the churrasco thigh burger, extra hot of course, which was a fantastic choice. The burger is filled to brim and does get messy, be warned! It contains delicious chicken thighs, cheddar and halloumi cheese, coleslaw, lettuce and a special sauce. It was perfectly complemented by sweet potato wedges and halloumi cheese (a wonderful combination) as well as some peri chips that I shoved in the burger. The only reason I haven't given a 5/5 is I'd have preferred a slightly spicier main course.
I'd fully recommend this Nando's and the new menu item too. Parking is free in the car park outside by the way.
