High Street Kensington - Pompey Ranger Review
This store in the posh area of Kensington high street, very close to numerous outdoor/camping shops!!! and just south of historic Holland park so ideal for grabbing a take away to sit out in the park. The front has large windows that open up to the high street but are shaded by retro chic pull down cloth blinds over the pavement which I liked. Upon entering you have the till area on the left with sauce bottles and other containers as decoration which really worked well. You walk down the store is framed by large urns with succulent/aloe vera style plants. There is a red leather form along the right hand wall with a pebble tile wall behind it and behind the sauce and beverage station it opens up to a another area at the back with a small outside space beautified by large terra cotta pots up the wall. The stairs there lead down the the lower area of the store which was very impressive with its own beverage/sauce station a large central table made from a cross section of a tree and red leather forms all around the outside complemented by wickerwork walls. The toilets were beyond this area and despite being subteranian were clean and spacious and well kept.
The whole store was impressively clean and very well attired the only let down being a number of light bulbs having gone (including the one above my table 3)
The staff were ok but didn't stand out for special comment and some lacked the standard nandos smile. At first when they brought out my meal it had a small chicken leg despite asking for a breast, this was quickly corrected and the chicken was slightly dry but not exceptionally. The chip portion was quite small but the salad was generous, cold and crisp.
This store is worth visiting just for its decor.
