Horsham - Marc Joss Review
With Arsenal's trip to play Brighton on the South Coast a 4pm kick off, it was an unmissable opportunity to visit a new Nando's for me on the drive down. Having worked on summer camp in Brighton in 2013, both Nando's in the city itself had already been ticked off and a quick look at my unvisited map showed Horsham would be the best option. The drive down was lovely with a very scenic route, mainly consisting of A roads, taking us down to a new part of the country for all but one of the party.
Parking was free in a bay nearby given it was a Sunday, another bonus. The pedestrianised town centre is full of quirky shops, pubs and other eateries. We found Nando's easily enough and were welcomed in on a fairly busy Sunday lunch time. 3 small tables line the restaurant on the right and are ideal for 4 people, but we managed to add a chair and seat the 5 of us with very little table space once all the food arrived. It was that or a wait for a table, so it was worth a minor squeeze.
My food arrived within 10 minutes and was up there with the very best. My chicken was completely covered in sauce, perfectly cooked and plentiful in portion size. Most importantly it was actually spicy and the after taste remained in my mouth long after completion. The peri salt on the chips was in abundance and I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The only disappointment was the tiny container used for the mayonnaise supplies which resulted in me having to ask for reinforcements. The food itself still gets a 5, however.
The lighting is rather nice and a wide staircase leads up to the toilets with a plethora of eye-catching artwork on the walls. The toilets are unisex in case you were wondering.
My 165th Nando's was a lovely experience and Arsenal beat Brighton to advance in the cup. What a day!
