Horsham - Karen Francis Review
We decided on the spur of the moment to go to Nando's in Horsham for lunch. We are not an easy bunch to please - I am a vegetarian, my 15 year old son is a very fussy eater, my 18 year old wants high quality food and my 2 year old, who is disabled, needs to feel comfortable and relaxed. Only my partner and eldest son's girlfriend are easy going when it comes to restaurants!
We parked in Swan Walk car park which gave us a five minute walk to Nando's. There was a market in the town centre which gave Horsham a very pleasant and vibrant feel.
We arrived at Nando's about 1.30pm. It was very busy. but we were seated in less than five minutes. The staff were excellent, making sure that we had a highchair and were happy with where we were sat. I was really pleased to see that vegetarians are well-catered for and ordered a beanie pitta. My fussy son was happy there was a chicken burger and my eldest chose a wing platter to share with his girlfriend. My partner ordered himself a burger and chips. We all went for the limitless soft drink option. This is a great idea and ideal for us. The cost of drinks can really add up and normally I have to limit everybody to one drink each, so it was a treat not to have to worry how much we drank.
After ordering we just chatted and were surprised to be told that the chicken wings would take 15 minutes and would we like a free starter while we were waiting! I did not think 15 minutes was long to wait and have NEVER been offered a free starter before at any restaurant due to having to wait such a short amount of time for food! Great customer service! We chose pitta bread and houmous - delicious.
The pitta bread was soft and warm and the houmous was really tasty. Our main meals went down very well. There was barely a scrap wasted. The beanie pitta was very enjoyable, the chicken wings were devoured. In fact, the platter came with 12 wings rather than the 10 that were on the menu. Maybe this was another kind gesture because of the very brief wait, but for whatever reason it was much appreciated.
i did not really notice the decor to be honest as it was busy and I was occupied with eating and entertaining a 2 year old. A 2 year old who was perfectly relaxed and who was treated very well by the staff. Some people do not know how to react when confronted with a disabled child, but all the staff were completely relaxed with him and this made me feel relaxed, which in turn meant he was relaxed.
I would definitely go again. It was brilliant value and we all enjoyed it.
