Intermark Mall - James RYN Review
Day 2 in Malaysia and it was time to visit another Nando's. This one also wasn't on the website yet, and I'm guessing it is fairly new since it had the best decoration of any of the Nando's we have been to so far in South East Asia. Still nothing standout in terms of artwork though, so I fear a 5/5 in this category might not be possible here. On arrival there was no one seating people, several tables waiting to be cleaned, and a waiter who clearly saw us but didn't come over. We therefore sat ourselves down and I grabbed two menus from the till area. The manager saw but didn't apologise or anything, so a 2/5 today for staff.
When I loaded up the menu on my phone today I was delighted to see the espetada as an orderable option! I was starting to think I was mistaken that this was an option in Malaysia and Singapore before the trip, but it seems there is a slight variation between restaurant menus here. Of course I went for the espetada, along with some spicy rice which I haven't tried yet.
I'm giving the speed 2/5 today since our food arrived one dish at a time around 10 minutes from first to last. This meant one of us had almost finished before the other had started - not ideal! The espetada was delicious though, reconfirming my love for this dish from a few years back, and my wishes it would come to the UK. Grilled red and green peppers covered in Extra Hot sauce are also fantastic, and something I think would make a lovely side dish. The rice it came with was white and fragrant rather than yellow like in the photos, and I think they gave me the wrong one. It was tasty though, so I stuck with it and will try ordering spicy rice again tomorrow.
