Islington - Gerry Louis Review
From Twickenham to islington is a long journey... But I left RYN 20 with £50 gift vouchers and spent .72p on my meal so it was definitely worth the visit.
Last time I was here the service was terrible, my chicken wasn't cooked and the food wasn't great. This time they pulled out all stops however I will mention that none of the people from that previous night were there this time and it made all the difference. The only two bad points I will get out of the way was they had no sweet mash and no sweet wedges as alternatives and the toilets were dirty, dark and disgusting.
I was getting my photo taken with my £20 gift vouchers so wasn't able to run up first for the tills but my food arrived first and within ten minutes. Half chicken mango and lime with garlic bread, peri salted chips and three mango wings. When will there be mango and lime in takeaway bottles, impatiently waiting. The chicken was cooked well this time, plenty of sauce, was hot on delivery though the chips were a little warm. The garlic bread was grilled thoroughly and tasted good... The wings were a little emaciated but saucy.
We were seated in the lower section of the restaurant, Elliott and I wondering what this branch was before due to the large barn door at the back and the shape of the high ceiling and sky roof thing? Bare walls facing us with scratchy wood thing to make it look older but it looked terrible, but loads of artwork behind us. We sat along one wall that has a long couch connecting all the tables with individual ones in the middle and and far end. Circular tables to the left of us, then the gangway leading to another lower. Floor for more intimate liaisons. Then the loos. Terrible state, and the letters on the front need to be clearer.. It was a good night tho.
