Kingston - Pompey Ranger Review
This quaint tudor half timber Nando's sits on the main road in Kingston upon Thames just back from the the river and close to the university sports buildings which I was visiting. The exterior is so welcoming with the black and white leaning walls and the leaded glass, shame it was let down by the large orange waste bins down the side.
There was a group in front of me when I entered awaiting a large table but after a couple of minutes I was given a table in a part of the restaurant which would have originally been the exterior court yard but a modern glass roof that goes up to the full height of the building allowed us to look up at the former outside wall of the top floor and enjoy the period features whilst the colour wall at the back is a good way to obscure the wash up area. There was a good mix of period and modern features. Food was quite fast and was of a normal standard of chicken perhaps slightly tinged on the wings but still succulent inside, the side portions were of a good size.
The toilets are upstairs through a period narrow stairwell which adds to the atmosphere and through the upstairs floor which was not in use but benefits from its own till/bar area and also own beverage and frozen yoghurt machine whilst still having the period roof beams. The Toilets were clean
This is definitely a Nando's worth visiting
