Lakeside Shopping Centre - Pompey Ranger Review
This store by the Lake at lakeside has got free parking a short walk away which on the day we visited was at full capacity, made worse for us in that we were in 2 minibuses so needed a street level space. The store, as said, is on a broadwalk by the lake and had a large outside seating area with canopys above and something which infuriates me electric heaters in the canopys. Worse still even though it was a hot day the heaters were all turned on blaring out heat and wasting electric contributing to global warming. Got told we would have a 20 minute wait for a table but did notice the secret was to just walk in and take a table if you saw one. We however waited.
Once seated we then queued up to order which again took a long time in the queue and was a painful experience. We returned to our booth and again waited for ages (did notice some people who ordered after us got served first but got slight feeling they didn't like our table.) The chicken when it came out was well cooked as was the corn on the cobb. The chips however were a measly sized portion and cold, my friend said my chips looked "very sad" and I had to agree with them. I was also lacking my peri sprinkle and not being able to wave down staff from where we were hidden in the booth I had to go out and hunt them down. They also had run out of knifes in the cutlery so had to chase that down too.
What with the waiting and the small chips and not really getting the love of the place all of us were quite pleased to be leaving which is strange as these are probably amongst my most Nandos fanatic friends.
