Leeds - Briggate - Marc Joss Review
My first trip to Leeds since a university night out in 2007 meant there were many Nando's possibilities to choose from as I battle to equalise and then overtake James in terms of different Nando's visited. This was my 135th different ex-peri-peri-ence and Leeds Briggate Nando's was chosen by local expert Marco. This Nando's is within walking distance of the Leeds station (as are a couple of others) and is conveniently located on a street corner making it easily visible from afar.
The first thing I noticed on entering the restaurant was that the first table on my right was table 0! "I have to sit there," I said to myself and soon enough, a Nandoca offered us our choice of seating, no brainer! This Nando's is spread over four levels with seating and tills on two levels. The stairs going up are lined with two phenomenal pieces of Nando's art (see photos) depicting true Nando's passion.
I proceeded to order after an enjoyable chat with manager Nikki. The food arrived swiftly and was of a high standard. My chicken was covered in peri sauce and was actually spicy unlike some recent visits. My large portion of peri chips was enjoyable with lots of peri salt evenly distributed over the whole lot. The rather anorexic size of the mayonnaise containers was questionable however, it made dipping slightly more difficult than normal.
All in all, this was a great Nando's with friendly staff, marvellous décor and tasty food. Fully recommended.
